Today, we would like to share Dr. David Whyleys views on the potential of interactive displays.
With technology advancing so quickly, and new devices introduced all the time,?the large interactive display most definitely still has a role to play in the classroom. Consider that the education environment itself has changed D students no longer learn in a linear fashion nor are they passive receivers of information. Instead, the modern classroom is one that focuses on engagement, collaboration and interactivity. And the interactive whiteboard has been instrumental driving this approach. In fact, large classroom displays are generally seen as a must-have technology in the classroom to facilitate the core teaching and learning function of demonstration and modelling.
Whats more, Its impossible to say with certainty that the interactive whiteboard will be around forever D it may very well evolve to such a degree that we start calling it something else! However, in the near future I believe there is definite scope for development of the interactive whiteboard and interactive panels.
The new generation ofIQBoard interactive touch screen displays is the perfect example. IQBoard touch screens include a 4K display with crystal clear graphics and colours, and smooth inking in all light levels. More than that, this latest generation touch screen includes an inbuilt Windows 10 computer, so no additional desktop or laptop is required D merely switch it on and access what you need from online apps and documents to storage.
India, as a populous country in the world, they regard education as a huge cause that cannot be ignored. Every year, the Indian government pays great attention to the development of education.

This year, IQ and partner ELMO joined in the DidacIndia 2018 exhibition, Booth number: B23. At this exhibition, IQ displayed the concise version of IQSchool Solution, including a 92-inch infrared interactive whiteboard with the latest IQOne S2 multimedia teaching AIO, an ultra-short focal laser projector IQProjector V2. Meanwhile, there was a new IQTouch C Pro interactive flat panel, an A/C & power control terminal, a 2.4G wireless microphone and the passive speaker IQSound Plus.
We took an IQSchool Converged Station V430 apart, so that the simple internal structure can be clearly seen.
The connection of the whole system demonstrates the powerful integrated control function of IQSchool Solution, which can control the light on/off, projector on/off, air conditioner on/ off, adjust the temperature on the touch panel, set the device operation schedule and turn on/off all connected devices as required.
Once the IQSchool Solution was exhibited, we received a lot of consultations, the product manual we prepared on the first day was almost run out. It is also a great honor for IQ to be recognized by the Indian market. IQ hopes to have in-depth communication and cooperation in the Indian market. Have you ever read `its torrent dashes down three feet from high, I wonder if its Milky way that falls from the sky by Tang Dynasty-Li Bai , or ` you cannot see the shape of the mountain when you stand on it by Song Dynasty-Su Shi We all learned the poems related to Lushan. Therefore, IQ members are going to visit Lushan to recall the familiar place in our memories.
Early in the morning, we left for Lushan, having a great time together on the train and reached there till afternoon, Lushan is famous for its summer resort and so it is! Cool breeze in the mountain! On the first day, we were heading for Flower Park which was named by BaijuYI. and the Ruqin lake which is like a violin lying in the mountain.
The scenery made us relaxed.
The next day, we paid the visit to the Three Tiled Springs as we heard that you are not reach Lushan unless you reach the Three Tiled Springs??. The steep stairs leading to the valley was really a challenge, but we made it.
Rowing in the water, having a water fight with each other.
In the afternoon, some of strongers went to the Five Old Men Peaks which is mentioned in the Japanese comic, a miracle place for purple dragon training. And the rest of us with families arrived at the Hanpokou across from the mountain, overlooking the Five Old Men Peaks and Poyang lake.
On the third day, we visited the beautiful Meilu Villa, a place once accommodated Chiang Kai-shek and Chairman Mao in different years. The unique bathroom inside attracted lots of eyes. Besides the Meilu Villa, we also visited the museum with Lushan history, Mount Lu conference site. etc.
Time flies when we were having fun. Looking forward to our next journey.
The next generation of the interactive digital display, such as IQTouch, are more popular in the corporate and educational environments than ever before. They offer a range of amazing features that can be seamlessly integrated into existing technology platforms and are more cost-effective than ever.
The best system allows users to do what they need, while using their familiar and IT-approved software tools and existing peripherals.
This growth also drives the improvement of AV performance, smaller hardware footprint, and therefore less space in crowded spaces and a shift to open architecture solutions. Being able to use your own software and peripherals is key to this flexibility, as users often use non-standardized devices such as smartphones and laptops and want to connect them to interactive digital display for collaboration.
If you want to set up an interactive solution for your business or school, think carefully about the following questions to help you find the solution that best suits your needs.
1: Size and space are often the key factors, and display providers that offer a variety of screen sizes can give you more choices. For example, IQ currently offers 55-inch to 98-inch options in its IQTouch series.
2: If you want to add an interactive display to your existing setting, are the interactive display brand you considering is ??closed architecture?? or an open architecture solution? Can it be smoothly integrated with your existing video conferences, cameras, software, and other devices?
3: Is the interactive display brand you are considering embedding in Windows, or does it allow you to run your own operating system display that has been approved by the IT department?
4: In addition to flat panel displays or projector-based displays, do you want to buy an interactive display with proprietary annotation software to make the system work best?
5: Whether the interactive display vendor needs to provide software licenses to all employees when using the display, further increasing the initial setup cost.
6: Ask if the annotations and collaboration software are included in the price of the interactive display. Also, do employees need training to operate the interactive display?
7: Does the interactive display use a third-party touch overlay for multi-touch functionality, or is it integrated into the design of the interactive display from the very beginning of design/engineering?
8: For true collaboration, consider how many users can use the interactive display at the same time. Ask how many contacts the monitor you are considering will support. For example, the IQTouch interactive display provides at least 10 touch points on all of its interactive display devices.
9: If you want to set up your monitor to interact with multiple users, can it work in a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environment?
10: Will the interactive display perform other digital signage functions if needed?
Interactive digital display based on an open architecture model have proven to be the best way to seamlessly integrate new advanced interactive display solutions into classrooms or conference rooms. More and more organizations are achieving this at a lower cost while leveraging existing best practices and existing audiovisual and video conferencing equipment and software investments in user organizations.
The IT era has raised more challenges to the 21st century educators, when the traditional chalk and whiteboard combination in the classroom has been replaced with dazzling interactive displays. Teachers nowadays are free from the worries to handle technologies, while new interactive panel brings revolutionary plug-and-play user experience for them to create collaborative and engaging class quite easily.
That being said, it??s not that easy to choose the right interactive panel when faced with plenty of options in the market, where vendors present their products with all the technical jargon and fancy promotion. Therefore here we are, to give you ten things to consider before making your big decision, and help you get the most suitable touch panel for you and your students.
Size comes first
Most of the classrooms could fit interactive touch panels from sizes 55???? to 98????, but the most popular ones are those sizes ranging from 65???? to 84????. Normally the size of the classroom determines it shall be equipped with which size of the panel. After all, you don??t want students sit at the back of the class struggle to read a 20pt font everyday. However, do bear in mind that larger size comes with heavier weight, and inevitably it leads to more trouble for logistics and installation, the safety of wall-mount positions and possible movement of future maintenance.
Resolution rules all
When you go and buy a TV for home entertainment, resolution is definitely the central factor that keeps your eyes on the monitor. The same is with the interactive panel. The quality of the visual effect is made up of the number of pixels, which defines the sharpness and clarity of the image displayed in the screen.
Nowadays technology has spoiled people with High Definition images everywhere, which you may hear as 1080P or 2K (1920??1080) resolution. This leaves you a clue that any interactive panel with resolution less than that should not be considered. Resolution lower than 1080P HD might be fine with smaller screen such as your PC or laptop, but to be seen on a screen larger than 55???? just exposes the blurriness in every level and gives you unpleasant visual experience.
Moreover, some interactive panels are already ahead of the tech trend and offer Ultra High Definition (4K, 3840??2160) as total package. Some may argue whether the 4K resolution is too luxurious for education use, but think about the young generation that we are nurturing for the future, don??t they deserve the best that technology could offer to be well-armed in this IT world?
Warranty terms and service
Today??s market of interactive panels is filled with different manufacturers and suppliers that from various backgrounds, but it certainly does not stop new brands emerging up with fancy design. We are not telling you to walk away from the newbies, but like always, you can??t be too careful when it comes to the warranty terms of the device that you are going to purchase, and to know how long it??s expected to function just fine.
Normally used in the classroom environment, any interactive panel that can be regarded as durable should be able to last at least 50,000 hours of expected use with a lifespan of over 15 years. It??s also important to know the warranty terms before making decision, whether it??s on a basis of 12 months or 5 years on-site maintenance.
Make the most of the touching experience
What makes you choose the interactive panel instead of just a large-size TV in the classroom? The reason is simply because of its touching feature. Whether to use hand or pen or stylus to touch and tap the screen, you count on the display to perform daily tasks same as you would do with chalks and whiteboards back in old times, just much more to be expected. However it should be recognized that not all screens are equal when judged by their touch smoothness and flexibility with different touch sources. Some of them could be much sensitive and accurate by a touch of a finger, while some could suffer a little bit of delay when you write fast or hasty.
There??s also the matter of multiple touch points functioning simultaneously. Most interactive panels nowadays are available with 6-20 touch points, which you may find weird because clearly we won??t be seeing more than 10 students standing in front of the touch panel to engage in the activities, but then again, surely you need to have options with at least 6 touch points for more interaction possibilities.
Dual system ? is it necessary?
One of the main features of the interactive panel is the built-in dual system ? Android and Windows. Simply turn on your interactive panel, connect it to the internet and start the journey of plug and play. Users could shift from Android to Windows without restarting the machine, which saves time and boosts efficiency in class teaching. Most of the Android system supports the access to Google play store, making the download of education apps rather easy and enriching the class interactivity at a certain level.
Besides, the availability of Windows saves the teacher from bringing his own laptop back and forth to the classroom. Though the integrated Windows system does not boast with high specification as those external PCs, it??s more than enough for a general classroom environment.
Do we give you a lot to think about? We??ll stop here today to let you chew on the above five points for a while, and come back with more by next time. Feel free to leave your comments and discuss with us anytime.
